Note: Mirrors of varied form designed to fit above mantels. Generally of two main types: those made to be hung horizontally and which usually consist of three but sometimes four panes of glass, of which the central pane is about twice the width of each outer one; and those made to be hung vertically, often consisting of a single square or rectangular pane of glass, sometimes with a painting set within the frame above the upper portion of the mirror. May have attached candle branches. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 為鑲嵌於壁爐上方所設計的各式鏡子,約略有兩種主要形式:橫向懸掛者通常由3片或者有時4片鏡板構成,中央鏡板面積為兩側之雙倍大;垂直懸掛者則大多由單一正方形或長方形鏡板構成,有些於鏡板上方的框架內嵌有畫作。除此之外,有些壁爐鏡還附有蠟燭支架。 |
Dutch ..... Wordt gebruikt voor grote spiegels met verschillende vormen die boven schoorsteenmantels worden gehangen. Meestal zijn er twee hoofdtypen: spiegels die horizontaal hangen en meestal bestaan uit drie, soms uit vier glazen, waarvan de middelste zo'n twee keer zo breed is als de buitenste twee, en spiegels die verticaal hangen, meestal met een enkel vierkant of rechthoekig glas, soms met een schilderij binnenin de omlijsting, boven het bovenste gedeelte van de spiegel. Eventueel kunnen er kaarsenhouders aan zijn bevestigd. |
Spanish ..... Úsese para grandes espejos de una variedad de formas diseñados para caber arriba de las repisas de chimenea. Generalmente de dos tipos principales: aquellos fabricados para ser colgados horizontalmente y que normalmente consisten en tres, pero algunas veces cuatro cuadros de vidrio, de los cuales el cuadro central es alrededor de dos veces más ancho que cada uno de los exteriores; y aquellos fabricados para ser colgados verticalmente, a menudo consistentes en una única hoja de vidrio cuadrado o paneles de vidrio, algunas veces con pinturas puestas entre el marco en la parte superior del espejo. Se le puede adosar arañas de velas. |
