Can I bring my child to a Oedipus performance?
Oedipus deals with adult subject matter that is not recommended for persons under the age of 12.

Will you have assisted-listening devices available?
Yes, assisted-listening devices are available upon request. Please ask an usher for one before you select a seat.

Are masks required?
We are following LA County Department of Public Health orders as they are updated. Currently, we are maintaining the safety measures described below.

Fully vaccinated visitors may be unmasked indoors.

Visitors may remove their masks when outdoors, but are highly encouraged to wear masks while watching the show. For this event, our dining and theater areas are outdoors.

Please note that the following are not permitted to be worn instead of a face mask: gaiters, bandanas, scarves, ski masks, balaclavas, or masks with an exhalation valve. Face shields are also not allowed instead of a mask, but may be worn over one.

How often are areas cleaned?
High-touch surfaces such as door handles and handrails are being cleaned regularly. So are tables, counters, and chairs in the cafes. Restrooms are being cleaned four times a day.

Hand sanitizer is available near doors and other high touch areas.

How can I purchase tickets to a Oedipus performance?
Tickets for Oedipus are available beginning July 1, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. PT.

Is there a limit on the number of tickets I can buy?

Do you have group sales?
Yes. For groups of 15 or more, please call (310) 440-7300.

If tickets are sold out, will there be a waiting list?
No. However, we encourage you to check back about one week before a performance, as seats may become available.

Do I need a separate parking reservation for the performance?
No. Separate parking reservations are not necessary. Your ticket also serves as your parking reservation. Parking is $10 after 6:00 p.m.

How early can I arrive?
Due to City of Los Angeles regulations, there is no admittance to the site between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Is there assigned seating?
No. Tickets are all general-admission seating, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 7:15 p.m.

Will a seat cushion be provided?
Yes, each seat is outfitted with a cushion that has a back.

Can I bring my own seat cushion?
No, portable stadium chairs are not permitted due to space limitations.

How long is the performance?
Approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

Can I get something to eat before the performance?
Yes, our concessions menu will be available soon. All dining concludes at 7:45 p.m. in advance of the performance.

Can I eat in my seat?
Yes. You are allowed to bring food and drink to your seat in the Outdoor Theater.

Can I bring my own food and drink?
No. Visitors are not permitted to enter the site with their own food, beverages, or alcohol. However, food, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages are available for purchase on-site. All bags may be subject to security inspection, and backpacks and bags larger than 11 x 17 x 8 inches must be checked at the coat check in the Entry Pavilion. Will there be heaters? Can I bring my own blanket?
There are no heaters in the Outdoor Theater. We encourage visitors to bring a warm sweater or a blanket.

Can I come to the Museum earlier in the day?
Yes. However, you must have a separate general admission ticket to the Getty Villa, which is subject to availability. Please note that galleries are closed between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., however the Entry Pavilion will remain open. Check ticket availability online or by phone at (310) 440-7300.

Will the galleries be open?
Yes, first floor galleries will be open before the performance.

Will the gift shop be open?

Are performances wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The Getty Villa site is ADA compliant and is wheelchair accessible. Front- and rear-row seating is available for visitors using wheelchairs and for their companions. Please arrive early to reach this area before the performance begins. Visitor Services staff will be available to assist you.

Are pets allowed at the Getty Villa?
No. Pets are not allowed anywhere on the Getty Villa site, including the parking structure. Service animals, such as guide dogs for the blind, are permitted.

If I purchased tickets, but cannot make it, can I get a refund?
No. Unfortunately, there are no refunds once tickets have been purchased.
