Jasmine Revolution (Tunisian history, 2010-2011)

Note: The first major uprising in what later came to be termed the "Arab Spring." Set off by the self-immolation in 2010 of 26-year-old fruit vendor Mohammed Bouazizi, after being mistreated by a police officer; eventually led to the resignation of then-president Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali.
