	Martyrdom of Saint Cecilia (Christian iconography)

Note: Narrative surrounding the martyrdom of St. Cecilia. In the story, she is condemned to death by the Roman prefect for refusing to renounce her Chrisitan faith. He orders her suffocated to death in the bath of her own home. When she fails to die, he orders her beheaded; the executioner cut three blows to her neck but was not beheaded; she lived for three days.
