Transfiguration of Christ (New Testament narrative)

Note: Narrative in which Christ takes three disciples to a mountain, where he is raised into the air and metamorphosed as a radiant being, accompanied by Moses and Elias and for the second time God the Father proclaimed him as his only-begotten son. Derives from Matthew 17:1-6, Mark 9:1-8, and Luke 9:28-36; alluded to in Peter 2 Peter 1:16-18 and John 1:14.
