Regina Coeli (hymn, anonymous, by 12th century)

Note: Medieval Marian hymn of the Christian church, documented by 12th century; author unknown. It was one of the four seasonal Marian antiphons of the Blessed Virgin Mary. According to legend, St. Gregory the Great (died 604) heard the first three lines chanted by angels on a certain Easter morning in Rome while he walked barefoot in a great religious procession.
