| Note: Ecce Puer, or Behold the Child, was a commissioned portrait of six-year-old Alfred William Mond. Rosso is said to have been having difficulty creating the image of the child until he caught a glimpse of the boy peeking through a curtain. The artist called this work a "vision of purity." Rosso eventually cast multiple versions of Ecce Puer in various media. | |
