Note: The statue of Louis XIV by Martin Desjardins is shown in ruins on the Place des Victoires with the replacement obelisk on a platform rising through the dust as spectators mill about. The obelisk remained until 1806 when it was replaced by a Louis XIV equestrian, which holds the space today; Library's copy matted and mounted to 51 x 34 cm.
