Constructing a Photographic Tale of Argentina

The Rhetoric of Exclusion in Medieval Manuscripts

Manuscripts curators Kristin Collins and Bryan C. Keene want to really take you behind the scenes as they plan a provocative exhibition of works which examine prejudice and stereotyping in the Middle Ages. In an unusual effort, they are making their curatorial process transparent, requesting input from the public as they attempt to tell uncomfortable truths about historical art and its context.

Conserving an Ancient Italian Treasure

Getty Museum conservators have been working in partnership with the world-renowned National Museum of Archaeology in Naples to help research and restore some of its ancient objects. Most recently, the Altamura Krater, a large, illustrated vase, arrived at the Getty Villa's labs where conservators have begun to unravel the mystery of its past restorations.

Art for All

Earlier this month at Inner-City Arts in Downtown Los Angeles, hundreds of public school students, ages 9–12, transformed a city block into a large outdoor painting studio. The event was led by Panamanian artist Olga Sinclair, who stages large-scale art lessons for children to raise awareness of the importance of arts education.
