The Woman Who Lost Her Head—Then Found It
Jeffrey Spier, the Getty Villa's senior curator of Antiquities, went to Manhattan and unintentionally stumbled upon a nearly 2,000-year-old Roman head that had been missing for decades from the body of the Getty's
Statue of a Draped Female. For the first time in years the head and body will be reunited in a very rare "recapitation."
