Richardson, Villroy L. (American photographer, 1827-1903)
|
Note: Villroy Richardson arrived in Peru in 1859, contracted to work for Benjamin Franklin Pease along with Henry de Witt Moulton. He then was enticed, along with Moulton, to work for Pease's next door rival, E. Garreaud y Cia in 1860. He opened the first of many studios in 1862. He took over the former firm of E. Garreaud, then operated and named for Jose Negretti, in 1869 along with partner Amandus Moller. He was arrested in 1871 for creating inflammatory political cartoons, though he was released in 1872. |
