Note: Born 24 June 1819; died 30 January 1890. Louis-Jules André entered the Ecole des beaux-arts in Paris in 1836 and won the Grand Prix in 1847. He was a student of Jean-Nicolas Huyot and Louis-Hippolyte Lebas. André was a professor at the Ecole des beaux-arts in Paris from 1855 to 1890 or from 1867. André was 'inspecteur-général des Bâtiments civils', a member of the 'Institut de France', 'sous-inspecteur' of the Bibliothèque nationale and architect of the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle, Paris.
