|
Note: Art dealer responsible for the the promotion of the “Blue Four”: Lyonel Feininger, Alexei Jawlensky, Paul Klee and Vasily Kandinsky in the United States during the 1920s through the 1940s. Born in Germany, Scheyer cultivated a taste for European modernism by arranging exhibitions, lectures and publications on the work of the four artists, and negotiating sales on their behalf. Her collection is held by the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California. |
