Record Type: Person
Ceramicus Painter (Attic vase painter, active ca. 600-580 BCE)

Note: An Athenian black-figure vase painter who was a senior contemporary of the Gorgon Painter. He was less prolific than the Gorgon Painter but considered more fluent. The importance of the animal frieze style is demonstrated on an olpe he painted where even a small vase is divided into registers, and the single myth figure in the upper frieze is flanked by lions.
