Gillar, Jan (Czech architect, 1904-1967)

Note: Czech architect studied first at the Prague Technical University, then at the Academy of Fine Arts with Josef Gočár. Gillar worked as an independent architect from 1931 to 1948. He joined the Left Front in 1929, and the Czech architecture section of CIAM in 1930. His best-known work is the French School at Prague-Dejvice (1930-1935), considered one of the finest examples of Czech functionalism. Czechoslovak architect.
