Wolkers, Jan Hendrik (Dutch painter, sculptor, and author, 1925-2007)

Note: Wolkers studied painting in Leiden, and sculpture at the Royal Academy of Art in Amsterdam 1949 -1953. He is primarily known for being a novelist, but also designed a monument in Amsterdam to the victims of the concentration camp at Auschwitz.
