Guerrero y Torres, Francisco Antonio de (Mexican architect, ca. 1727-1792)
|
Note: In 1767, Guerrero Y Torres was appointed Maestro de Arquitectura of Mexico City. From 1770-1774 he worked on the royal palace, the cathedral, the Inquisition Tribunal, and the Santo Tribunal de la Fe. His most important ecclesiastical work is the Capilla del Pocito in Guadalupe (1779-91), whose design is derived from a Roman Temple designed by Sebastian Serlio.
