Ostell, John (Canadian and English architect, surveyor, and engineer, 1813-1892)
|
Note: Ostell began his practice as surveyor, architect and engineer in 1831 in England; he emigrated to Lower Canada in 1834. He was president of New City Gas Company, 1860-1865, and president of Montreal and Champlain Railroad (1859-1865). He was also associated with the first communal transportation company, Montreal City Passenger Railway. In 1856 or 1859, Ostell gave up architectural practice and turned his attention to the lumber business. Canadian architect, Montreal. |
