Allen, Harold (American photographer, art historian, and teacher, born 1912)
|
Note: Born 29 June 1912. In 1937 Allen moved to Chicago, Illinois and began taking classes in photography and art history at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Allen served as an air force photographer for the United States Army beginning in 1942. In 1943 he was sent to England, United Kingdom where he began to photograph architecture. Allen returned to the United States in 1946, and in 1948 took up a teaching post at the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught photography from 1948 to 1960 and again from 1966 to 1977. American architectural photographer. |
