Duckett, Edward Austin (American architect, draftsman and teacher, born 1920)
|
Note: Duckett studied at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 1944 to 1950, but never completed his degree. As a student he worked closely with the architects Ludwig Hilberseimer, Walter Peterhans, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. From 1944 to 1947 Duckett taught at the School of Architecture, Illinois Institute of Technology. He later taught classes in construction details for four years at the West Kentucky University at Bowling Green, Kentucky. Duckett began working in the Office of Mies van der Rohe in 1944, primarily as a draftsman and model-maker. He worked on buildings for the Illinois Institute of Technology, until Mies lost the commission in 1958. In 1965 Duckett left the Office of Mies van der Rohe, and worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill until he retired in 1984. |
