Arndt, Alfred (German architect, painter and teacher, 1898-1976)

Note: Born 26 November 1898. Alfred Arndt attended the Königsberg Art Academy, East Prussia, Germany (now Russia) from 1920 to 1921. He studied mural painting and architecture at the Bauhaus, Weimar, and the Bauhaus, Dessau, from either 1921 to 1926 or 1927. He then taught joinery, metalwork, mural painting and architecture at the Bauhaus, Dessau, from 1929 to 1932. Arndt was involved in various architectural projects in Thuringia, Germany, from 1936 to 1945. He worked as the director of the Building Surveyor's Office and planning board in Jena, Germany, from 1945 to 1948, and as an architect and painter in Darmstadt, Germany from 1948 onward.
