Courret Hermanos (Peruvian photography studio, active 1863-ca. 1873)

Note: In 1863, Aquiles and Eugenio Courret, who arrived from France ca. 1861, opened a photographic studio in Lima, Peru, named "Courret Hermanos". Aquiles probably operated the business end of the studio while Eugenio was the photographer. Courret Hermanos was in association with another photographer named Rowsell in Valparaíso, Chile, ca. 1870. The photograph in the CCA collection is stamped "Rowsell y Courret Hermanos, Valparaíso", though the exact nature of the collaboration in unknown.
