Note: Apollonia was an ancient city near the mouth of the Aous (Vojussa) River. Its ruins are located over the hill of Pojani near a monastery; probably founded by colonists from Corinth and Kerkyra. It thrived during the Roman Empire and its school of philosophy became celebrated. |
