Note: Group of islands with no permament population, under French possession in the Indian Ocean. In 1960, they were transferred to the Prefet of Réunion, and in 2005, they were transferred by decree to the Senior Administrator of the Territory of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF). Several nations dispute France's sovereignty over the island group. Mauritius claims Île Tromelin, and Madagascar claims the remaining four islands (Île Juan de Nova, Île Europa, Îles Glorieuses, and Bassas da India). |
