Note: The town of Limburg is located on the Lahn River between the mountains of the Westerwald and the Taunus, north-northwest of Wiesbaden in the district of Giessen in the German state of Hessen. It is the capital of the district of Limburg-Weilburg. First mentioned in 910, it is noted for its 13th-century cathedral and castle. Local industry includes the manufacture of machinery, metal, paper goods, soap, and brewery products. Its 2004 estimated population was 33,600.
