Er zijn personen opgenomen naar het beroep of de activiteit die zij uitoefenen, zoals restauratoren, naar hun biologische of sociale rol, zoals ouders, en naar andere kenmerken zoals het aanhangen van een bepaalde overtuiging (bijvoorbeeld pacifisten) en sociale of lichamelijke omstandigheden (bijvoorbeeld daklozen).
