Dutch ..... Communicatiemiddelen waarbij gezichtsuitdrukkingen en lichaamsbewegingen worden gebruikt, met name met handen en armen, en waarin geen akoestisch overgebrachte geluidspatronen worden gebruikt. Gebarentalen worden gebruikt wanneer gesproken communicatie onmogelijk of onwenselijk is, bijvoorbeeld tussen sprekers van verschillende talen of wanneer een van beide partijen doof is.
