Note: Japanese hourglass drums having two heads of hide stretched over iron rings that project well beyond the body, laced to each other across the body with ropes. Players hold them by the ropes, relaxing and tightening their grip to alter the tension and thus adjust the pitch of the heads during play. Often used during performaces of Noh drama. |

German ..... Japanische Sanduhrtrommel mit zwei Membranen, die über einen Eisenring gespannt sind, sich über den Korpus hinaus erstrecken und miteinander durch Schnüre verbunden sind. Der Spieler hält das Instrument an den Schnüren, lockert oder strafft sie, um die Spannung zu ändern und dadurch die Stimmung der Felle während des Spiels anzupassen. Oft benutzt bei Veranstaltungen im Nō-Theater. |
Spanish ..... Tambores japoneses en forma de reloj de arena que tienen dos cabezas de cuero estirado sobre anillos de hierro que se proyectan más allá del cuerpo, amarradas entre sí con cordeles a través del cuerpo. Los ejecutantes los toman por los cordeles, soltándolos y apretándolos para alterar la tensión y de este modo ajustar el tono de los parches durante la ejecución. |
