Note: Mouth bows of the southern Sotho of southern Africa, consisting of a thick straight stick with slender flexible ends notched at their extremities to hold a wire string; a loop of gut pulls the wire string towards the center portion of the bow, dividing it into two unequal sections yielding fundamentals a fourth apart. The string is plucked and stopped by hand.

| Dutch ..... Snaarinstrumenten bestaande uit een dikke rechte stok met dunne buigzame uiteinden, ingekerfd aan de punten, waaraan een metalen snaar is bevestigd. Deze wordt door een lus van darm verdeeld in 2 ongelijke delen die een kwart uit elkaar liggende grondtonen geven; bespeeld door te verkorten en te tokkelen; Zuid-Sotho, Zuidelijk-Afrika. |

Mundbogen der südlichen Sotho in Südafrika, bestehend aus einem dicken, geraden Stab mit schmalen, dehnbaren Enden und Einkerbungen an den äußersten Enden, um eine Drahtsaite zu halten; eine Schlinge aus Darm zieht die Drahtsaite zum Mittelteil des Bogens und teilt ihn in zwei ungleiche Abschnitte, die Grundtöne im Quartabstand hervorbringen. Die Saite wird gezupft und mit der Hand abgebunden. |

Arcos de boca del pueblo Sotho de Africa del Sur, que consisten en una vara gruesa y recta de extremos delgados y flexibles con cortes en sus puntas para sostener una cuerda de alambre; una lazada de tripa jala la cuerda de metal hacia la parte central del arco, dividiéndolo en dos secciones diferentes dejando las notas fundamentales separadas una cuarta . La cuerda es pulsada y pisada a mano. |
