Note: Deserts having cold winters with snowfall and high overall rainfall throughout the winter and occasionally over the summer. They have short summers averaging 21-26 degrees C with long, cold winters averaging -2 to 4 degrees C. Winters may receive significant snow, with annual precipitation 15-26 cm. Examples are in the Antarctic, Greenland, and the Nearctic.

| Dutch ..... Woestijnen waar het in de winter koud is en sneeuwt, en waar gedurende de winter en soms ook de zomer veel regen valt. Deze zomers duren kort, met gemiddelde temperaturen tussen de 21 en 26 graden Celsius, terwijl de winters lang en koud zijn, met gemiddelde temperaturen tussen de -2 en 4 graden. In de winter kan er veel sneeuw vallen en de gemiddelde neerslag ligt tussen de 150 en 260 mm. Voorbeelden van koude woestijnen zijn te vinden in Antarctica, Groenland en het verre noorden van Noord-Amerika. |
