Note: Weights used in athletic training, as depicted in classical Greek sculpture and vase painting. Two shaped weights joined by a leather strap are swung by a long-jumper to increase momentum. The weights themselves have been depicted in various forms from half-moon to cylindrical hourglass shapes.
