Chinese (traditional) ..... 艏艉同形工程船,16至22英呎長,原有龍骨,且每節龍骨末端皆有一個孔洞,有兩枝桅杆,桅杆上通常為小型的斜桿帆(spritsails),到了晚期則改為偏離中心的中插板(centerboards);此種透過海浪的推動使船下水或上岸的工作船,發展於十九世紀晚期,可見於美國麻薩諸塞州馬莎葡萄園島一帶以及羅德島沿岸地區,用以撈捕龍蝦和扇貝。 |
Dutch ..... Te gebruiken voor werkschepen die voor en achter gelijk zijn en een lengte van ongeveer 5 tot 6,5 m hebben. Oorspronkelijk hadden ze een kiel met een gat aan beide uiteinden ervan en twee masten, meestal met kleine sprietzeilen; later zijn ze voorzien van excentrisch geplaatste middenzwaarden. Ze zijn ontworpen om door de branding te water gelaten en op het strand gezet te worden en laat in de 19e eeuw ontwikkeld om op kreeft en mosselen te vissen in het gebied rond Martha's Vineyard, in de Amerikaanse staat Massachusetts en aan de kust van Rhode Island. |

Doppelendiges Arbeitsboot, etwa fünf bis sieben Meter lang, ursprünglich mit einem Kiel, an dessen Enden sich jeweils eine Öffnung befindet, mit zwei Masten, gewöhnlich mit kleinen Sprietsegeln, und später ausgestattet mit einem seitlich versetzten Kielschwert; entworfen, um durch die Brandung hindurch auszulaufen und zu stranden, und entwickelt im späten 19. Jahrhundert für den Hummerfang und Muschelfang in den Vereinigten Staaten im Gebiet um Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, sowie entlang der Küste von Rhode Island. |
