Note: Aromatic, dark brown liquid prepared from the aqueous extract of the seeds of several species of the genus Coffea, particularly C. arabica. Coffee is used as a beverage and as a brown dye. On wool, it produces a dark yellow-tan color with a chrome mordant and a tan with an aluminum mordant. Both colors have fair light fastness. Coffee colors on cotton are not fast. Some restorers have used coffee to tint bleached papers or repair regions to a shade that corresponds to surrounding areas. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 指稱一種香氣濃郁的深棕色飲料,是以水萃取不同品種的咖啡屬植物種子而得,特別是阿拉比卡種咖啡(C. arabica)。咖啡可作為飲料和棕色染料。用於染製羊毛時,可搭配鉻媒染劑染出深黃色調,而使用鋁媒染劑則可染出黃褐色。這兩種顏色都具有相當的耐光性。咖啡用於染製棉料時較易退色。某些修復員會使用咖啡染復泛白的紙張,或是修復與周遭部分深淺不同的區塊。 |

Portuguese ..... Líquido aromático, marrom escuro, preparado a partir do extrato aquoso de sementes de várias espécies do gênero Coffea, particularmente C. arabica. O café é usado como bebida e como corante marrom. Na lã, produz uma cor marrom-escura com um mordente de cromo e um bronzeado com um mordente de alumínio. Ambas as cores têm uma rapidez de luz razoável. As cores do café no algodão não são rápidas. Alguns restauradores usaram o café para colorir os papéis branqueados ou reparar as regiões em uma sombra que corresponda às áreas circundantes. |
