Note: Refers to the trend in American interior design of the late 1960's, the term coined by Progressive Architecture magazine. The style is characterized by large, over-articulated design elements and the use of transparent, reflective, or synthetic materials often combined to achieve tromp l'oeil effects. During the 1970's, the term was extended to include certain trends in Post-Modern architecture. |

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de trend in de Amerikaanse binnenhuisarchitectuur van de late jaren 60 van de 20ste eeuw. De term is afkomstig van het tijdschrift Progressive Architecture. De stijl kenmerkt zich door de grote, overdreven ontwerpelementen en het gebruik van transparante, reflecterende of synthetische materialen, vaak gecombineerd om tromp-l'oeil-effecten te bewerkstelligen. In de jaren 70 van de 20ste eeuw werd de term breder en vielen hieronder ook bepaalde trends in de postmoderne architectuur. |
Spanish ..... Se refiere a la tendencia en diseño interior americano de fines de la década de 1960, término acuñado por la revista Progressive Architecture magazine. El estilo se caracteriza a menudo por los elementos de diseño grandes, sobre-articulados y el uso de materiales transparentes, reflejantes, o sintéticos a menudo combinados para lograr efectos de trompantojo. Durante los años setenta, el término se fue ampliando para incluir ciertas tendencias en arquitectura Post-moderna. |
