Note: Refers to a style of black- and red-figure vase painting featuring highly idiosyncratic drawing styles; Mannerist vases were usually larger shapes such as amphorae, column kraters, pelikai, and hydriae. The name was adopted from terminology applied to 16th-century Italian painters. The black-figure painters working in this style include the Affecter and Elbows-Out, both of whom worked in the third quarter of the 6th century BCE. These artists were named by Beazley for their self-conscious, "mannered" styles characterized by odd proportions and unnatural gestures. Red-figure Mannerist vases of the early Classical period feature less extreme idiosyncrasies; the Pan Painter is considered the most gifted of the red-figure Mannerists.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 指一種黑繪與紅繪式的花瓶彩繪風格，有著高度特殊性的描繪風格；矯飾風格的花瓶通常較為大型，例如雙耳長頸瓶、圓柱狀巨爵調酒器、雙耳瓶（pelikai）與裝水容器（hydriae）。此名詞取自用於指稱十六世紀義大利畫家的專門詞彙。以此種技法進行創作的黑繪式風格畫家包括亞費克特（Affecter）與艾伯斯奧（Elbows-Out），他們的創作時期都在西元前550年至西元前525年間。因為這些藝術家在創作上有自覺地以「矯飾」手法創作怪異的比例與不自然的姿態，畢茲理（Beazley）因而以此為他們命名。早期古典時期的紅繪式矯飾風格花瓶有著比較不極端的表現手法；而希臘的畫家Pan Painter 則被視為最具有天分的紅繪式矯飾風格畫家。

Verwijst naar een type zwart- of roodfigurige vaasbeschildering met een zeer karakteristieke tekenstijl; maniëristische vazen hadden meestal een grote omvang, zoals amfora's, colonettenkraters, pelikai en hydriae. De benaming werd ontleend aan de aanduiding van 16de-eeuwse Italiaanse schilders. Tot de zwartfigurige schilders die in deze stijl werkten, behoorden de Affecter en Elbows-Out, die beiden in het derde kwart van de 6de eeuw v. Chr. actief waren. Deze benamingen waren door Beazley bedacht om te verwijzen naar hun stijve, ‘gekunstelde’ stijlen, die werden gekenmerkt door ongewone proporties en onnatuurlijke gebaren. Roodfigurige maniëristische vazen uit de vroeg-Klassieke periode hebben minder uitgesproken kenmerken; de Pan-schilder wordt als de begaafdste van alle roodfigurige maniëristen beschouwd. |
