Note: Highly stylized anthropomorphic carved sculptures constructed from flat boards and decorated with red, black, and white paint. These figures were used to display trophy skulls within the men's ceremonial houses, on the south coast of New Guinea. The sculptures are depictions of important ancestors or founders of a clan.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 高度風格化擬人雕塑，利用扁平板塊刻成，並以紅、黑和白色顏料裝飾。雕像描摹的是氏族始祖或重要先祖，為新幾內亞南岸部族，用於男性儀式聖所，展示做為戰利品的頭骨。 |
| Dutch ..... Sterk gestileerde antropomorfe beeldgesneden sculpturen, vervaardigd uit vlakke planken en gedecoreerd met rode, zwarte en witte verf. Deze figuren werden aan de zuidkust van Nieuw-Guinea gebruikt voor het tonen van schedeltrofeeën in de ceremoniële huizen van de mannen. De sculpturen beelden belangrijke voorouders of stichters van een geslacht af. |
| German ..... Hochgradig stilisierte anthropomorphe Schnitz-Skulptur, die aus flachen Brettern gefertigt und mit roter, schwarzer und weißer Farbe bemalt wird. Die Figur stellt Trophäen-Schädel im Innern von Kultgebäuden an der Südküste Neu Guineas dar. Die Skulptur porträtiert wichtige Vorfahren oder Gründer eines Clans. |

Essas figuras eram usadas para exibir crânios troféus dentro de casas cerimoniais de homens, na costa sul da Nova Guiné. As esculturas são representações de antepassados importantes ou de fundadores de um clã. |
