Note: A beamhouse operation, following bating, in which dehaired hides and skins are soaked in or saturated with 12% salt and 1.2% sulfuric acid to either prepare them for chrome tanning, or to preserve them to be stored for later tanning. Distinct from "brining", which is the soaking of hides and skins in strong salt solution to cure them before transportation to tanneries.

Te onderscheiden van 'inpekelen', waarbij huiden en vellen worden gedrenkt in een sterke zoutoplossing om ze te behandelen voor vervoer naar looierijen. 
Spanish ..... Proceso Ribera en la cual se depiló el cuero y las pieles en un medio saturado con la sal del 12% y ácido sulfúrico 1.2% para preservarlos. Distinto de "curar en salmuera”, que es el empapar de cuero y las pieles en la solución de sal fuerte para curarlos antes del transporte a las curtidurías.
