Note: In Hinduism, loving and adoring devotion to God or to one's chosen manifestation of the divine that leads to a close personal relationship with God. By surrendering to God, one can receive grace, however low one's station. In most religious texts of popular Hinduism, bhakti is recommended as the most effective path to the divine. This concept is behind some of the world's most moving theistic poetry.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 意指於印度教中，對神或其降凡化身忠誠與敬慕的奉獻，以得到與神親近的個人關係。無論其身分多低，把自己交給神即可得到神的恩典。在印度教的大部分宗教典籍中，獻身被視為通往神最有效的方式。一些舉世最動人的神論詩歌中皆隱含此概念。

| Dutch ..... In het hindoeïsme de liefdevolle en aanbiddende toewijding aan God of aan de zelfgekozen manifestatie van het goddelijke, die leidt tot een hechte persoonlijke betrekking met God. Door zich over te geven aan God kan iemand genade ontvangen, hoe laag zijn status ook is. In de meeste populair-religieuze hindoeïstische teksten wordt bhakti aanbevolen als de meest doeltreffende weg naar het goddelijke. Het begrip gaat schuil achter sommige van de meest ontroerende theïstische poëzie ter wereld. |
