Note: Generally refers to the traditional primary colors of pigment, red, yellow, and blue, that canot be made from mixtures of other colors, and from which theoretically all other pigment colors may be produced. When two primary colors are mixed together, the result is a secondary color; for example, mixing red and yellow makes orange. For primary colors in the specific context of color vision, use the more specific terms "psychological primary colors" or "physical primary colors."

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 通常指傳統繪畫的顏料三原色，亦即紅色、黃色、藍色。原色不能由其他顏色的混合而成，而理論上，原色能夠組成其他所有顏料顏色。如果混合兩種原色，則會產生二次色，舉例來說，混合紅色和黃色會產生橙色。
若專指色覺的原色來說，可用更精確的詞語「心理原色」和「物理原色」加以區分。另外，加法混色如電腦上的三原色為紅、綠、藍；減法混色如印刷上的三原色為青、洋紅、與黃。

Verwijst in algemene zin naar de traditionele primaire pigmentkleuren rood, geel en blauw, welke niet door vermenging van andere kleuren kunnen worden geproduceerd en waarmee in theorie alle pigmentkleuren kunnen worden vervaardigd. Het resultaat van vermenging van twee primaire kleuren is een secundaire kleur; een voorbeeld is oranje, dat uit een combinatie van rood en geel ontstaat. Gebruik 'psychologische primaire kleuren' of 'fysieke primaire kleuren' voor primaire kleuren binnen de specifieke context van kleurenwaarneming. |
| Portuguese ..... Geralmente se refere às cores primárias tradicionais de pigmento, vermelho, amarelo e azul, que não podem ser feitas de misturas de outras cores, e das quais teoricamente todas as outras cores de pigmento podem ser produzidas. Quando duas cores primárias são misturadas, o resultado é uma cor secundária; por exemplo, misturar vermelho e amarelo produz laranja. Para cores primárias no contexto específico da visão de cores, use os termos mais específicos "cores primárias psicológicas" ou "cores primárias físicas". |
