Note: Species of giant tussock-forming grass grass native to the Pampas and Patagonia of South America, but grown in Europe, North America, Australia, and elsewhere as a lawn ornamental and for dried flower arrangements. Grows up to 3 m (10 feet) in height; female plants bear silvery, plumelike flower clusters reaching 30 to 90 cm (1 to 3 feet) in height.

Reuzengrassoort die pollen vormt en inheems is in Patagonië en de pampa's van Zuid-Amerika, maar die tegenwoordig ook worden gekweekt in Europa, Noord-Amerika, Australië en elders als een sierplant voor grasperken en voor droogboeketten. De soort wordt 3 meter hoog. Vrouwelijke planten dragen zilverkleurige trosjes bloemen die op pluimen lijken en 30 tot 90 centimeter lang worden. |
