Note: Species of pine tree found along the Atlantic coastal plain of the eastern United States, recognizable by an irregular growth pattern and crooked limbs. At its northern range it hybridizes with P. rigida; in some classifications it is considered a subspecies of P. rigida.

| Dutch ..... Dennenboom die voorkomt in de vlakke gebieden aan de Atlantische kust in het oosten van de Verenigde Staten. De boom is herkenbaar aan het onregelmatig groeipatroon en de kromme takken. In de noordelijke gebieden ontstaan kruisingen met P. rigida. In sommige classificaties beschouwt men P. serotina als een ondersoort van P. rigida. |
