Dutch ..... De dag na zaterdag en voor maandag, door christenen gevierd als dag van rust en religieuze eredienst. Traditioneel beschouwd als de eerste dag van de week, en meestal samen met zaterdag gezien als weekenddag. In het Engels, Nederlands en in een aantal andere talen verwijst de naam naar de Romeinse 'dag van de zon'. In Romaanse talen verwijst de naam naar de dag van de Heer.
