Note: Names given for use in, or with reference to, a temple. In East Asian tradition, temple names usually comprise two characers, given after death to royalty and some others, referencing the great temple where royalty gathered to worship their ancestors. In contrast to "posthumous names" in this tradition, temple names are simple. In the protestant Morman church, members are assigned a new "temple name" in the Morman Temple. |

Dutch ..... Namen die worden gegeven voor gebruik in of om te verwijzen naar een tempel. In de Oost-Aziatische traditie bestaan tempelnamen gewoonlijk uit twee karakters. De naam wordt na de dood aan leden van het koninklijk huis en sommige anderen gegeven, om te verwijzen naar de grote tempel waar leden van het koninklijk huis samenkwamen om hun voorvaderen te eren. In tegenstelling tot 'postume namen' in deze traditie zijn tempelnamen eenvoudig. In de protestante mormoonse kerk krijgen leden een nieuwe 'tempelnaam' in de mormoonse tempel.
