Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Plantenfamilie van ongeveer 110 genera en 5500 soorten, waarvan er veel in watergebieden groeien. Oppervlakkig gezien lijken ze op grassen en russen. De stengels hebben een driehoekige dwarsdoorsnede en de bladeren, die in een spiraal zijn gerangschikt, vormen drie rijen (terwijl grassen afwisselend geplaatste bladeren hebben die twee rijen vormen).
