Note: A theater production system based on a permanent association of actors, and often a particular location or theater structure. Professional theater companies evolved during the Renaissance in response to urbanization in the major countries of Europe. Modern theater companies follow the same model as the earliest ones: a group of actors, scenarists, and technicians devoted to presenting theatrical performances.

| Dutch ..... Een theaterproductiesysteem gebaseerd op een duurzame verbintenis met acteurs, en vaak met een vaste locatie of theaterstructuur. Professionele toneelgezelschappen kwamen tot ontwikkeling tijdens de Renaissance, met het verstedelijkingsproces in de grote Europese landen als stuwende kracht. Tegenwoordige toneelgezelschappen werken nog op basis van hetzelfde model als de vroegste vormen: een groep acteurs, scenarioschrijvers en technici die zich wijdt aan het verzorgen van toneelvoorstellingen. |

Las compañías modernas del teatro siguen el mismo modelo: un grupo de agentes y de técnicos se dedicó a prestar servicios para sus pares de teatro. |
