Ein dicksohliger Stiefel, der bis zur Mitte des Beines reichte, von Jägern und Männern der Oberschicht im antiken Griechenland und Rom getragen, auch von Tragödien-Darstellern im Athenischen Drama. Er nahm oft die Form eines wadenlangen, hochgeschnürten Stiefels an, manchmal mit einem Keilabsatz aus Kork, um die Größe des Trägers zu erhöhen. |
