Note: Type of late-18th- and early-19th-century English drinking glass having a capacious bowl which rests on a short stem. Early examples have ovoid bowls of fairly thin glass; later ones are much thicker, straight-sided and stand on heavy, sometimes square, feet.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Type laat 18e- en vroeg 19e-eeuwse Engelse drinkglazen met een grote kelk die op een korte steel staan. Vroege exemplaren hebben een eivormige kelk van vrij dun glas. Latere exemplaren zijn veel dikker, met rechte zijkanten en een zware, soms vierkante voet. Geen Nederlands equivalent. 
German ..... Art eines englischen Trinkglases des späten 18. und frühen 19. Jahrhunderts mit einer große Schale, auf einem kurzen Stiel ruhend. Frühe Exemplare haben eine eiförmige Schale von eher dünnem Glas; spätere sind sehr viel dicker, mit gerader Wandung und sie stehen auf einem schweren, manchmal quadratischen Fuß. 
Spanish ..... Tipo de copa inglesa para beber de las postrimerías del siglo XVIII y comienzos del siglo XIX con un bol de mucha capacidad que descansa sobre un pie corto. Los primeros modelos tienen bols ovoides de vidrio bastante delgado; los posteriores son más gruesos, de lados rectos y montados sobre pies pesados, algunas veces cuadrados.
