Note: A white or drab yellow marble with purplish veins, it was supposedly favored by the emperor Hadrian. The word pavonazzo means peacock blue, violet, or purple in Italian. The ancient marble is also known as Phrygian marble because it is believed to have come from Phrygia in Asia Minor.

Additional Notes:
Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種白色或暗沈黃色之大理石,帶有微紫色脈紋。應受到君王哈德良(Hadrian)的喜愛。pavonazzo一字在義大利文中代表孔雀藍、紫羅蘭色或紫色。古代也被稱為佛里幾亞大理石(Phrygian marble),因為人們認為其來自小亞細亞(Asia Minor)的佛里幾亞。 
Dutch ..... Een witte of bleekgele marmersoort, purperachtig geaderd, naar verluidt de favoriet van keizer Hadrianus. Het woord pavonazzo betekent pauwblauw, violet of paars in het Italiaans. Het oude marmer is ook bekend als Frygisch marmer, omdat men denkt dat het afkomstig is uit Frygië in Klein-Azië. 
Spanish ..... Mármol blanco o amarillo parduzco con venas violáceas: se supone era uno de los favoritos del emperador Adriano. La palabra pavonazzo en italiano significa azul, violeta o púrpura pavo real. El mármol antiguo es conocido también como mármol frigio, porque se suponía que provenía de Frigia, en Asia Menor.
