Dutch ..... Handgebaar dat het aanraken van de aarde aanduidt; gebruikt voor zittende figuren, meestal Sakyamuni Boeddha bij zijn overwinning op de Mara. De hand, neerwaarts gestrekt en met de palm naar binnen gericht, raakt de aarde of gebaart in de richting van de aarde.
