Friday Nights at the Getty turns it up to eleven with The 88, an unsigned Los Angeles-based power-pop quintet whose buoyant melodies, first-rate musicianship, and general jollity have made their debut album, Kind of Light, a listener favorite on KCRW. Their appearance on the soundtrack for the hit series The O.C. has earned them an even wider audience.

The band's sophomore release, Over and Over, displays remarkable versatility and inventiveness, from the high-octane tambourines on the catchy breakup-survival anthem "Battle Scar," to the scaled-back and quietly affecting "You Belong to Me," to the languid accordion on the swampy burlesque "Jesus is Good."
